I am an adult that gets ear infections. This one began with a ruptured ear drum and ended with an infection in both my ear canal and my middle ear. I cannot hear well. I have continual buzzing in my head. I am crabby and slightly dizzy. The antibiotics aren't working fast enough for me.

That makes my ear hurt just reading about it. Argh.
I hope you get better soon. I too have ear problems. Took a blow to the head and have had tinnitus for years....eventually lost a great deal of hearing in both ears...wear two hearing aids...I am emphathic.
Infection though is different...pain. That is a rough one. Plagued as a child but not now. Healing hugs.
