I was out playing with Maddie in the backyard when I noticed this lovely robin nest. Nice placement and great crafting on their part! Momma robin flew off... chiding me all the way to a nearby tree.

There are only a few things I am really going to miss about our current home. One thing will be my neighbors. No...I don't mean the human kind, they'll probably throw a party when we leave. I mean the feathered ones who occupy the 15 birdhouses the previous owner left Mike when he bought this house.

BeBe my beloved cockatiel. We recently went through 24
hours of pure hell when she became egg bound. It is nearly always fatal. She
was rushed into the vet who said there was little to do but I asked her to
do some things anyway. For 24 hours BeBe went through such an ordeal I
prayed for her to die. It was the most incedible and awful experience I have
ever been through with an animal. She suffered terribly through the night. I
regretted not putting her down.
The next moring when she was still alive I was stunned. I decided to do some
herbal work. I 'waded' her in warm herbal watered down tinctures for nerves,
blood purification, female problems, and strength. The first wade calmed her
immediately! She finally rested!!! She had not been able to do that for 24
hours. Each wade made her stronger.
It was amazing. Instead of bringing her back to be euthanized I brought her
back for a calcium shot because she finally laid a huge egg! The vet could
not believe she survived it. We BOTH agreed she is a miracle. When a bird is
egg bound you have about a 30-60 minute time frame to work with.....need I
say more. I am writing a story about this experience because it changed my
life.
