reenie 365/62

My kinda-sorta favorite chair has become my mother's for-sure favorite chair - hence the bare spot in my living room. Since arriving, my mother's mobility has diminished to a near halt. She now pretty much lives in the chair 24/7. She can no longer get in her own bed. She's somewhat delusional regarding her health, but that's another whole story. I'm too tired to elaborate - things aren't good. Her doctor made a house call a few days ago (can you even believe that!) and she sees him this week for a more extensive evaluation. *sigh* She weighs over 300 lbs - I'm so worried about her falling. *double sigh*

MF: Thanks - I so needed the double gift of concern and caution for myself. As soon as I leave a few comments here, I'm calling the *coolest* elder care person. She's someone I know on the mountain... well we all know everyone on the mountain lol, and will start scheduling someone 3x a week for transportation and housekeeping. xoxo

Reens. You take care of yourself and if she does fall grab a phone and call someone to come help you. DO NOT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES try to lift her up yourself. Sit with her until someone shows up to help. My prayers will be with you!

Just hang in there! Eventually, you will get everything sorted out and life will have some sort of routine again.

Thanks, again. I strongly sense her time is close to leave me... I just wish she wasn't in such pain. She's had a very sad & hard life. I wanted to be able to provide an oasis of beauty & calm. You're right. After all settles down, we'll be fine.

So sorry to hear your time with your mother is not what you had hoped for.

I'm so close to my mom I can't imagine how hard it will be when it's her time. I'm sorry you won't have as much time as you hoped for. I'm sorry to hear she's in pain. I'll be praying for you both.
