This beach had been raked after being cleaned for the 4th of July weekend. I intentionally enhanced the contrast so that the tar balls could be seen. Compare the white sand on the dunes in the background to the oil-stained sand in the foreground. The superintendent at this site said that the oil was 10 layers deeps.
