Chicago and the Doobie Brothers Concert!

Carol #244

Mike and I went to Summerfest and heard a really great band called, The Sandcarvers.  We enjoyed their music so much we bought 2 of their CDs!  They're playing Irish Fest too, and we plan to go see them there too.

Runrig.
One of my best friends, Dee, has been talking about these fellows since I met her online over 2 years ago.
They are a-w-e-s-o-m-e!  They are from Scotland and it's really good music.
These lovely men write beautiful lyrics and melodies that are amazing and make "ye think!"  :)

Sarabeth: 179

My son's preschool holds a jazz fest of their own for two hours each spring. This is my son getting into the music of Ingrid Lucia, who was kind enough to perform for the little ones.

The hotel we stayed at had live performances every night in one of its restaurants. I am missing him already. We dined till late. The songs based on themes of love and separation and the drinks only made it more difficult.

Ever since I was a teenager, I've drawn immeasurable pleasure and comfort from The Jayhawks. The warmth of their sound, the pitch-perfect and hook-filled songwriting, those harmonies. Their music sweetens the good times, and it's a tonic in the down times. I've been immersing myself deeply in this great, recently released anthology.

One of my recent discoveries. John Paul Keith & the One Four Fives' Spills and Thrills is 37 minutes of pure rock and roll fun. Great guitars. Great vocals. Great everything. This record cooks.

Some of my Old 97's records. I'm a big fan of theirs, and I've been on a bit of a kick lately.

The "other" Let It Be. One of my favorite albums ever. I've been listening to a lot of The Replacements, lately. Messy rock and roll provides a needed counterbalance to all the Christmas music.

Every year, each day from Thanksgiving through Christmas, the Big Rock Candy Mountain blog posts tons of free Christmas mp3s and vintage cartoons/photos. I'm currently geeking out on Monday's collection of hoppin' holiday tunes and Tom Waits songs.
