Sarabeth's 30th

We have the boy back after 12 days with his grandmother. Here he models a sword we got for him at the Palace of the Popes in Avignon.

One of the pieces that I ordered from Lia Sophia. I do not have a lot of jewelry and diamonds are not my best friend (in fact I hate them!) but I think that having a few nice pieces to wear on special occasions would be nice...so I'm trying! This is simple and it makes me love it that much more!

Becky *Twenty-Eight*

Found out the bottom lights on our pre-lit tree are not working. Oh, well.

Becky *Twenty-Seven*

We went to a Pacer game tonight. There was a dunking exhibition at halftime.

Becky *Twenty-Six*

I discovered my older daughter's best friend was home alone on Thanksgiving, so I had her come over for diner with me and Lily. She brought me these flowers as a hostess gift.

Becky *Twenty-Five*

This is a bowl I bought at a craft show in Tennessee last weekend. Some mountain guy named Jasper makes these with a chainsaw. I love it.

My friends today. I've had a headache since I rolled out of bed this morning and the occasionally runny nose is really starting to get on my nerves. Here's hoping tomorrow will be better.

A tunnel under Marseille, France on our way to the airport. The hour, don't ask as it was ungodly.

My beloved Aunt Clara at her Thanksgiving table. She and her husband have a second home close to my home. They are so good to me.

I was terrified to see this movie (Paranormal Activity) I HATE scary movies...this movie was not that scary, it was spooky and had some creepy parts....but I thought the movie "1408" was worse....(My husband was thrilled I went and at some points during the movie I hid behind his vest that he gave me to keep warm...the thermostat was broken in the theater and it was 60 degrees in there!)

I have had this hair dryer since 1998, it looks like it's been through a war, and in a way it has been. It was a replacement for another hair dryer I had when I started high school...and it surpassed my expectations. It traveled all over the country with me, and was stowed on 6 planes, has operated in New York City and middle of nowhere Montana. I couldn't believe it died this morning while getting ready for work. I know it's lame as hell to be sad over a hair dryer but it was something that was always so reliable. I had a hard time throwing it out...but I did~ I bought a replacement and if it's even 1/2 as good as this one I know I'll be happy!

I contacted AT&T Wireless last night because I've been wanting to get a new phone. When I called, they told me that I was at exactly 1 year since upgrading the phone last year to an LG VU phone. It worked ok for a while, but wasn't a great phone. Now I have the Motorola Karma. So far... I LOVE IT!!!

We hiked today, and my daughter liked the rock formations. She wanted this photo to show her science teacher. We leave tomorrow. I am not looking forward to that plane flight.

We had to take Lita to the vet tonight. She has a ulcerated eye. The vet seems to think it was "trauma" induced. I think it may have been to much horseplay with my SIL's dogs while we were away last weekend. A few days of antibiotics and pain meds and she should be good as new.

Some of the Christmas cards have made it into their envelopes....Hopefully by Monday they'll be on their way....hopefully!

This is the view from one of the medieval villages in Provence. The sun's rays drew me to take the photo in the first place, but then I realized that the shiny portion between the far moutains was the Mediterranean Sea. We stared for quite a while.

Thanksgiving at mom's has ended with me, mom, and my sisters playing some kind of game for the last several years. In years past it has been Skip Bo. This year I discovered Mexican Train Dominoes. I taught it to mom and Erin when we went to SC in the spring. Tonight, we taught Dana and allowed the next generation to play with us as well. Eden is 8 now and we have to remind her it's her turn, but she does pretty good.

Finished up the tree today...I started this tree "theme" about 5 years ago and it's evolved and changed every year. I think this is it's last year. My taste has changed and I have seen so many other things I like better and if you hit the after Christmas sales you can pick up stuff dirt cheap! :)

When my Dad was in the Koren War he was sent to Germany.
He bought this tablecloth for my Mom, it has images of 6 German castles.
My mom gave me this the year he passed away, she never used it.
My tradition is to use this tablecloth every Thanksgiving to remember my Dad.

This is my good friend Amy. We went to lunch today and I couldn't resist taking her photo. She wears her pearls with e-v-e-r-y-t-h-i-n-g - she was wearing jeans and a white tee.

These took my eye for a moment then I pondered at the price,
yes they are pretty but in the end even an ornamental cabbage is still a cabbage whatever colour it is
......so I bought a Skimmia, top left hand corner,it will grow, give colour and I wont feel the urge to eat it!!

Nous avons eu des moules avec des frites sur le port de Saint-Tropez. They were the best I've had in a long time. The city, however, was mostly empty as the season for tourists is over.

We took the kids to the Lights Under Louisville tonight. It's really hard to get a good picture in the cave, but it was very cool. They let you drive through in your car and it takes about 15 min. Here is one of the curtains of lights we drove through.

A photo of who I'm thankful for.....our girls are spending the holiday with Grandma and we are spending the day together...kind of to reconnect and prepare for the next four weeks which will not be pleasant! I am glad that we are making time for us and not spending this precious time traveling and over eating! HA! (He looks sorta pouty in this photo because I was making him be my test subject for my new lens which is AWESOME!)

the culprit

I bought this bag of cat food and set it down by the pantry. I forgot about it and didn't put it away immediately. When I went to do it the next day, a hole appeared in the bag........Guess who??? Lil' Mertz!
